Something made in my personal comfort zone!:D
A horse head in close up looking to the left - for me the best because I´m right handed.:)
( Lol I guess 90% of my horse art is looking to the left )
All the hairs are painted one by one, no premade brush used for it.:D
I painted 2 other artworks like this before and was thinking about a series of these close up paintings.
Maybe you have an idea about what breed and help me to get inspired? (This is a Haflinger
horse, if you not noticed! ;) ) My first was an arabian but I will surely paint one
again, the eye in my first painting really bothers me, it is too small for an arabian.;)
Would you comission me to paint your OC horse like that? I´m so low on points and would love to help out some
of my favorite groups for the "Super group Status" and keep my pm running.:)

Maybe I will upload an animated wip, for the moment I´m too lazy and happy
it is done.:) Other animated wip´s are on my facebook page!

Can't believe it's taken me months to fav and comment on this here on dA. :-O
Sarah, this looks so real. It's enough to look at the first two close-up paintings to see how much your technique has improved. And I'm sure I mentioned it before that I adore Haflinger horses. As for ideas for future close-up portraits, I remember that you wanted to paint a Friesian for the series?
I'd actually love to commission you, but I'm not that into OCs anymore, nor have a horse of my own... unless you don't mind painting my bunny? ;)

haha no prob my friend! remember you are talking to the reply snail!;)
I was not really online here the last weeks, just looged in to clean up some
devwatch messages.my inbox is exploding! o0 I watch to many people and groups! XD

yes a friesian is still on my list and I would never take any money
or points from you my dear friend! It would be a great honor, if we could do an art trade
in the future! Maybe in january of febuary when we both have
more time. And of course I could paint your bunny and you my beloved dog Anton. ;)

Haha, I have the same problem. I often have so many Watch messages (especially from groups) that pile up over time, I just have to delete them all because it'd be too overwhelming to go through every single one. I tend to prioritize Feedback as well as journals and deviations from individual artists that I follow.

 Yes, you're right! We've been planning to do that art trade since... two years ago, I think? Time flies! :XD: Can't wait and I'm more than happy to paint your beloved Anton. :cuddle:

first:Happy new year my dear friend!:huggle::)
May your dreams and plans come true!
In my case I hope this year will be only better than the last. :/

We get a new dog next week, it is a son of my beloved Anton.
I will post photos of course here or on facebook.:)
And thinking of our art trade, maybe this cute little guy is also a
lovely photo reference.;)

That's quite some dedication there! Every single strand of hair. Well, the result looks like a photograph, so I guess it's worth it.
About them all looking to the left, you can just flip a few when you're done, so much easier than using your left hand if you want the horse to look the other way.

It's so wonderful! One thing that really captivates me about your art is the emotion you put on their eyes... We can almost see their lifes there lol And the fact that you draw each hair painted one by one is stunning! It looks like a real hair, but even more perfect!

Great art, Sarah  You're awesome!

Wow do it!! I'd like to take more pictures, but I barely see horses here around
Reply
:iconooblacknightingaleoo:
we have a lot´s of horses around but unfortunately I don´t have
much chances to get close to them. :/ I mostly take some
photos when some events in stables close by are going on.
I would love to have a camera lense for distances, I have tons of
photos with horses far away on a meadow - not very useful. :P

Ooooh so that's why I draw almost always horses looking to the left too. Never thought it's easier because I'm right handed, interesting :P

yeah the all the hairs took hours but without it looks so flat
colored to me. o0
I always cover the drawing/painting with my hand when I have
to go from left to right.I miss a lot while doing that and can hard
focus on the lines. the other way is much easier for me.;)
